Alright, I was originally going to take Apple's side on this, since I could clearly see it looks a lot like iOS, but having looked at Samsung's F700, I don' think Apple has any right to sue..
Although the Samsung F700 has very simple icons, Apple clearly has the same placement of icons, even looking at the bottom you find the four dock like icons..
http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/9559/samsungf700cellular.jpg
I'd say that Apple copied Samsung :P.. Honestly I'm not one to take sides just because I like Apple Products, I just think its wrong to sue since Samsung clearly had this type of UI first.. Apple has no right to sue..
Which launched 6 months after the original iPhone...and was displayed in February of 2007 with an entirely different interface.

Browsing the Internet, Calendar, Checking Mail, Listening to songs, Texting, Multitasking, Notifications, Cut-Copy-Paste, ability to open and use Office files, basic tools like Currency converters, To-Do lists etc. These are what i believe encompasses in a "smartphone", and here's the newsflash: Android OS meets them perfectly.
"Perfectly?" Really?
I can do everything you listed above in iOS just as well as Android - and in many cases better - except in the area of notifications. An area in which iOS truly does suck. How Apple has not yet fixed this boggles the mind.
The iPhone was late on MMS, Multitasking, Cut-Copy-Paste, and now it's going to be a notification system.
If you're going to use "late" as a barometer of success, Android was "later" than iOS at doing just about everything else.
Plus, browsing the internet and checking mail is much better on a bigger screen.
Yep, like an...iPad? :p
I feel the App Store is just an added feature, and that's why i'd get an iPod Touch for.
Of course. Those bajillion apps, most of which completely destroy Android in quality, are an unimportant aside.
Android OS already has the "smartphone" features down, and they're just working on the bonus features such as the Android App Store.
If Google thinks like you - that the App Store is merely a "bonus feature" - this war will be won by Apple.

this would be smart because as of right now the mac book pro doesnt WOW me over the macbook. Do you think the "core 3" will also have the same pin structure as the 2's?
Not a chance in hell, give up the idea of upgrading your Mac already
The newer Meroms that are to come out Q2 2007 will be based off a completely new socket.

You'd best stop then old fella (yea, I can play forum clichd response 101 as well, /tips-hat)
Well at least you are an honest troll. Can't say that about everyone who starts attacking groups of people over their OS choice. *shrug*

I have to say, I actually expected the woodcrest results to be better. It really shows that the G5 was years ahead of the competition.

Which fact do you deny?
Considering the shellacking dished out by the others in this thread, I'm fairly sure you haven't presented any facts for me to deny.

Ah delivery on a drive that would be nice although as we archive to SR I suspect we won't do it for a while.
Promo departments will only every get a DVD with time code across it from me as all to often I have seen them do something we have said they can't with the footage, I like to control exactly what they get to do with it.
Delivery on drives is such a nice concept but unfortunately like the quoted poster mentions drives are not ideal archive media... Tapes are still miles better in terms of long term robustness.
Now if SSD prove to be robust enough to be used in archival processes then i can see a completely tapeless environment taking the stage.

I'd be fascinated to know exactly what you did to "discover" those layers, 5P. I have Photoshop and Illustrator too. Guess what? One layer. Nothing selectable. At least one of us is talking complete bollocks.
He didn't discover anything, he just bought in to the reactionary right wing propaganda spreading like wildfire on the internet.

It needs to come with a 27 inch multi-touch surface to use as the primary work surface, with my current 27 inch monitor as the head-up dual-monitor (input-output-view).
This is long overdue. If apple won't make it, AVID should. ASAP! :)
And for all us professionals, price is not an issue. We want it to be expensive, and so nice that people will rent out facilities.
Bring it on Apple!
This would be the perfect gifts for the pro-world, after helping you back from bankruptcy, remember dear Apple?
Best,
Jon M.

Sorry, completely forgot about that.
iOS rocks in apps, but it does suck *** in terms of notifications and true multitasking.
Apple should've been the ones to buy Palm.
Apples multitasking is way better they anything out there. On these devices battery rules all...

There is nothing open about having to run everything you do past an authority for approval.
Not that I really care, as the term "open" has been grossly misused by Android fans for a long, long time.
The part I think is really funny, is that all the reasons for doing what google is doing right now, are the clear and distinct flaws that Android fans have been universally denying the existence of for years.
So all I'm saying is, no real difference between the worst of each camps fans.
Complete denial of these problems, until they suddenly are getting "fixed", and then its all "hail to the victors" for conquering long standing issues they've been dreaming would get fixed all along. (in their closets apparently, I mean, fragmentation was never an issue, right?)

Or make a lot of people happy. Either way everyone's going to be paying attention.

Well, yeah, it will probably make more people happy, but it will be fun to see all the people bitching and moaning around here.

And they wont do it even though I am an authorized user of the account? And know the last 4 of the Social Security number? Because I do not want to run into problems with this when I go to pick it up.
Also, will radioshacks be opening early that day?
Correct to the even though your an authorized user. Authorized users can do anything but add or upgrade, atleaset at RS.
Again, this is if your store is following the rules. I've ran 3 stores now, and every time i take over a new one, that is something i have to address bc the old managers let them do it. Probably part of the reason they aren't there anymore, haha.
We haven't got official word on an opening time yet. I would imagine we will know at least by the time preorders start if not sooner.

We all have our crosses to bear. Ultimately it is up to the homosexual to sin or not
What does my post have to do with cinema excellence?
default: a preselected option adopted by a computer program or other mechanism when no alternative is specified by the user or programmer.
Unless influenced otherwise the brain develops heterosexually
Yeah, I know what default means. Your explanation has to be one of the most ridiculous I have encountered. Thanks for the laugh.
Though, i do have to wonder. What do you think "influcenes" the brain that may cause homosexuality?

Ironically, most of the people on this forum said iPhone on Verizon would be game over for Android.
This 'game over for Android' reminds me a lot of the 'this is the year of desktop linux' stuff that has been said every year for the last 9.
Ah linux trolls are my favorite  I lost count how many times I've answered a question and/or posted on something to have the random linux guy show up and spout "Or just toss out your mac/pc and install linux on a new machine". Of course no one asked about linux.

I find your tone very condescending and doesn't encourage open and accepting dialogue between ppl here. I don't understand why you would participate then... If you need to be the oldest forum member (you win) or 100% right (you can win that too).... but I want to engage with ppl here in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
Agreed, he suddenly jump into the thread and started bashing everyone for making time pass until the machine we wait for arrives, quite unnecessary.
And to imply that chances for a RevB being more refined than a RevA is not higher is just plain stupid. Take evolution, things improve, bad stuff gets pulled out! ;)
Well, there are friendly people here, just some dicks needing to vent or something we could do without..
